Works pretty well with PC and also with Xbox. The only complaint that I have is that the controller is not compatible with few PC games that I have. I have to get another logitech controller to play these games.

Lots of people complain ‘Why not just use a mouse and keyboard?’ and my friends make fun of me for using it but if you have a PC in your living room then this is the way to go for controlling games (that fully support using it). I’ve been playing Fallout 3 with this controller and it works great!

So, if you are using XP you need to install the driver it provides. I was using XP SP3, and after I installed the driver, XP couldn’t find the controller. I had to manually add the hardware in control panel as well. It finally works, but…I get the famous BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH when I plug in the controller. However, if I don’t plug in the controller, nothing happens. Once I plug in the controller, there’s about 50% chance you will get the BSOD. Maybe some people don’t have this problem, but I do. So if you are planning to buy it, make sure you are ready for this problem.

I’m sick of this problem so I switched to Windows 7.

This is probably the best controller you can get for your pc especially since most pc games now may require you to have it other than using your keyboard. This can be used for your xbox 360 console as well and the buttons are layed out very well and comfortably.

This is nice, solid-feeling controller that was very easy to setup and looks a lot better in person than online. It feels durable and has a long cord. Supported by all the games I tested it with, unlike the logitech rumblepad 2 I tried (and returned) before getting this.

Compatibility. A product by Microsoft for Microsoft Windows, every game that supports controllers will support this one. Microsoft also releases updates to this controller via their Windows Update. Not only do games support it, but many of the games I have show the Xbox buttons and control scheme layout in the manual. They also show the buttons on-screen (which to press), just like on the consoles.

This controller also comes equipped with vibration.

I got the wired version because wired is usually more reliable and less problems than their wireless counterparts. Also if there are batteries involved, I’ll pass.

The Xbox 360 controller gets a lot of flak for their D-Pad. They redesigned the D-Pad for Europe gamers (because of a soccer game) which shows you that it could be improved. However the PS2/PS3′s D-Pad isn’t any better.

I used to have a Logitech Wingman and the joysticks broke off. It was kind of cheap. Their new ones are probably better. Logitech’s version of the Playstation 3 controller would be the only other option. However it doesn’t seem as good as Sony’s. Logitech also makes an Xbox 360-like controller.

I had no problems adjusting to this controller. I’ve used the PS2 and PS3 controllers the most. It’s a lot like the PS2/PS3 controller. The first noticeable difference is that the joysticks aren’t symmetrical. The D-Pad and Left Joystick are in reversed positions (comparing to the PS2/PS3 controller). However, it doesn’t seem to matter. Now that I’ve been playing with it, I can’t choose which I like better, Xbox’s or Sony’s.

A few of the games I’ve played with Xbox 360 for Windows controller:

    - Batman Arkham Asylum

    - X-Men Origins Wolverine

    - Prototype

    - Tombraider: Underworld

    - Watchmen: The End is Nigh

All of which had on-screen displays for the buttons!

I bought this controller for the primary purpose of using it to play Final Fantasy XI on the PC. I play the Xbox 360 version and it once I started using the PC version, I decided I’d like to have standardized controllers. Makes perfect sense to me that it would just, I dunno, work. But it does not. First, the controller is not supported directly, so you have to reconfigure the game to use it. Fine, but even then it’s just…not…right. It’s sluggish and slow, you can’t use the trigger buttons to access the macro menus, and essentially does not work. At least it’s not worth my trouble. So if you’re buying this controller for that game, skip it–until Square gets their act together or Microsoft does (frankly, I’m not sure who to blame here). Note: the controller itself is flawless; it works just fine on my Xbox.

My dad ordered this XBOX 360 Controller from Office Depot. It workd flawlessly in many games like Halo and Flight Simulator X. However, the rumble feature is not supported in many games. For example, there is no rumble in Halo, but it rumbles when you crash or land in FSX. One more concern. When I cleaned my controller with a damp cloth, following the instructions,it malfunctioned. If any of you know why, please email at [...] Thanks.

Coming off a long relationship with the Logitech Rumblepad 2 Vibration Feedback Gamepad I felt it was time for a change. So many controllers available, most were garbage, pure eye-candy but lacking that functionality most gamers prefer. A trip to Microcenter yielded the 360 Controller for Windows. I was really excited to get my hands on it and tear through those gaming genres I haunt the most.

Opening the package I discovered my first gripe about the controller: you’re paying the sticker price for an adapter. If you already have a 360 controller, you can use it in conjunction with the 6″ USB cable adapter since it seperates from the actual 360 Windows controller cable itself. Money lost, lesson learned, but this really won’t deter most buyers.

Overall, I was really pleased with it’s performance: an excellent feel, button placements, response, since it’s still a 360 console controller there’s not much to expect out of the ordinary.

…that is…until Need for Speed came into play.

I’ve been a faithful NFS gamer since the very first title back in 1994 and this may just be an isolated incident, but, I really wish I purchased another Logitech Rumble strictly for racing games. Twitchy response on the digital pad is putting it lightly as it seems to happen to ANY racing game I endeavor. With the Sensitivity settings at “0″ the slightest graze or feather touch of my thumb across the D-Pad results in a unreasonable turn in that direction in-game. Bear in mind, it’s TOO sensitive, most controllers can’t reproduce this and their dead-zones are way off but this is too much even for what I need it for. I spend most of my time weaving in and out [45° turns or more] of that perfect line I’m trying to ride during races. If it were an obstacle course or a driving exam with road cones spaced apart I’d be king but in NFS:U, for instance, I hit more traffic than I do that perfect line.

Again, this could be an isolated incident, but I’ve tried multiple systems and toyed with the settings of the controller numerous times, even opting for controller emulation to further fine tune the sensitivity to anything other then “hair-trigger”, no luck. Third-person adventures and fighting games [Tomb Raider, the DMC and/or Dynasty Warriors series] don’t exhibit the same behavior, FPS do but only once in awhile. It’s strictly limited to racing/driving games and, unfortunately, this equates to lost time and positions during races. Not good.

I’d recommend this controller to other gamers only the grounds that the first sign of this same erratic steering you promptly return it to the retail outlet you purchased it from, or buy a Rumble, even a steering wheel setup.

First things first, which genius suggested the “How much fun is this game?” category?

Anyway, I bought this controller three months ago “on sale”, even though I think this is one of those products that’ll always be “on sale”, so technically, it’s never “on sale” (Whaaat?). I dropped it probably a couple dozen times, and it’s still going strong.

Some of your sweaty, gunky goodness will be caught in the back trigger buttons, but I just consider it personalized. And judging from the amount of gunk I have on mine, apparently my left finger is dirtier than my right finger. Too much information, I know. The left joystick will be void of the 4 “grip dots” after about 2 months of use, assuming you’re right handed, which you should be. The plastic on the ball of the joystick wears down to a white texture, perhaps from the controller itself, but either way, takes away from its aesthetics a little bit. It kind of looks like dry skin to be honest.

The central console display showing player 1-4 for the most part will be useless to PC users. It lights up when it’s plugged it, that’s about it.

Classic review words: ergonomic, stylish, fad-ish, radish.

The Xbox 360 controller is just wonderful, the best console controller I’ve ever held in fact.

Be aware of the fact that this is the EXACT same product as the wired 360 console controller, so if that one is cheaper, buy it! The only difference is the package (this one is uglier…) and you don’t get the software CD…but you can download the latest software package at MS website.

Microsoft making this controller cross compatible is actually a pretty big deal as there may finally be a level of standardization for PC controllers, if most people begin using this controller is makes it far easier on game developers to know what interface gamers are using. In fact, many games are coming with a 360 control scheme pre-installed, just as Need For Speed Most Wanted.

It’s an XBox controller that is shipped with a USB adapter and a disc with Windows drivers. I have tried NFS Shift and a couple of other racing games and they do a good job of recognizing the controller and giving you the default scheme you would expect from an XBox. It’s worth it to not have to map all of the keys for each game.

This is the best possible controller for the PC that I have found thus far. I have tried many controllers that are similar to the PS2 design, but they all lacked decent button recoiling, easy to push buttons, and slimness. All other controllers I have tried are too bulky and after ~30 mins. my hand begins to get tired. I have played one game with it so far (Winning Eleven 9) and it works perfectly. No lag, comfortable feel, and the buttons are easy to use especially for a fast sports game like soccer. Obviously, if you’ve used the wired regular XBOX 360 controller you know this is the same thing with different packaging (and an install CD). I highly recommend it!

To start off with, this is actually quite a good controller. It offers some standardization for PC controllers so that developers can have some sense of direction, is light, and an absolute pleasure to use.

I do, however, have some gripes:

    1) My controller arrived damaged through no fault of TigerDirect. The right analog joystick does not appropriately snap to the center so the stick will cause the point of view ingame to drift to the right if I dont correct it and reposition the stick myself. However, this is a minor issue, and probably not present on most of the controllers shipped.

    2) Z-axis. Both of the trigger (not shoulder) buttons share 1 axis so no game will register correctly if both are pressed at the same time

    3) Game support. The problem is not actually having buttons respond ingame – even if game controllers are not supported, programs like JoyToKey will make the controller work. The problem I have is that rumble capability is not fully supported at all in most games, for example, Halo PC will not send any rumble commands to the controller. In fact, I have to map every button to the controller manually in Halo, the game does not automatically set up the controller for you. However, the rumble feature IS supported in Windows. In Flight Simulator X, the rumble motors appropriately jostle the controller when the plane lands or crashes. Ideally, Microsoft should go back and release updates for some of its older games, like Halo (in this case Bungie/Gearbox then actually), although support will be much greater when Vista comes along: Bungie has promised native support for the Xbox 360 controller, including possibly autoaim, in Halo 2 Vista.

Microsoft has released a small Xbox 360 Accessories program that will allow you to use the Ring Of Light button in the center of the controller. However, the program doesn’t do much yet: it is supposed to tell you when you have accidentally disconnected the controller but it doesnt. Apparently, with this new program you can however attach up to 4 controllers to one PC at once, but given how few PC games support co-op play this isn’t that major either.

a BIG note though: Xbox 360 Wireless controller drivers are currently available on Microsoft’s site. I don’t see anybody selling a “Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows” yet, but from looking at Microsoft’s site the Xbox 360 Controller Accessories program mentioned earlier does support the wireless controller, so I would hold off on buying until the Wireless controller is released to retail with the driver CD.

Also, stable beta drivers are available on the internet for using this controller on a Mac, and theyre supposedly even better than the ones Microsoft provides for the controller on Windows. Just Google for it and you’ll find them.

Simple! The controller works excellent and I play PC games with it and it works amazingly great, playability with it is flawless and it was extemely easy to install/configure… Reason for not giving it 5 *****, PACKAGING!!!!!

I do not know if Amazon was the one who packaged the controller, but I do not think they could have been cheaper and more careless about the cardborad box they put it in!!!! The box was absolutely not able to close with the controller inside, so pretty much what they did was to fold the top of the box by force over the controller and quickly and awfully tape around it so it would hold!!!! Not only the box was semi-opened because it didn’t fit the controller inside but to pack something, ANYTHING in this way can potentially put the quality and safeness of the product at risk!!! I really wanted to give it 3 *** but the controller is so good and actually affordable that it would be unfair to give it less than 4 ****!!!! Again, controller-AWESOME vs shipping/package-AWFUL!!! Amazon should start caring more about how they ship their products, it’s not fair that customers who make them super rich can get a slap in the face like this…

    Anyways, enjoy the controller!!!!!

    Hey!

I have a few things to say about this controller.

It was easy to connect and install on my PC, but I was led to wonder…

I have not been a big fan of first person shooters, etc. but sometimes you need a controller. Let’s be honest: Who here is tired of playing Battlefield 2142 with the keyboard?

This one is compatible with both the XBox and the PC. So it seems ideal, but it begs the question as to why, in this day and age, with PC technology advancing rapidly, I should need different controllers in the first place.

I mean, why should joysticks, etc. be necessary, when PC, and console users, have access to such a capable and compatible controller?

It works well, and it is easy to install, so it gets top marks. The fact that it does not interface with all applications knocks it down a little. Perhaps in the future a universal controller will be made available…

This controller is the biggest letdown I’ve ever experienced with a gaming console. Since it was standard with the system I bought, I had no choice. There is at least a 2-3 second delay with each action I take with it. I press ‘A’ to accept the letter ‘a’ for my profile name, and three seconds later it appears. Try selecting plays in Madden with that kind of delay. This is a completely worthless piece of garbage. BTW, I’m working within 4 feet of the console, with nothing in between the controller and the console. Perhaps I got a lemon. Garbage.

Everything about the great feel/design is true. This thing molds to your hand, is the right weight, and just feels right.

Even my wife, who is not into gaming was able to pick it up and use it right away. Great for emulation, the sticks work great, buttons feel solid.

    My 3 gripes however.

    1. I really would prefer 2 rows of 3 buttons across on the face of the controller, 6 buttons on the front. As it is designed, select & start count as 2 buttons (joy 9 & joy 10) with this controller. On an xbox, they are useful. On a PC, they are worthless to program into any game, and are throw away buttons.

    2. This controller does not work properly with Elder Scrolls Oblivion PC. Even after hours of tweaking, I was not able to make it control correctly. This is a dissapointment considering the game was released for xbox & pc simultaneously.

    3. The “force feedback” feature does not seem to work like normal force feedback. Games that advertise force feedback support do not give force feedback (rumble) on the pad. I have read several internet reviews of this controller, not one of them has described being successful in getting rumble to work. I think the rumble is very proprietary and only works in a very limited library of games. Forget trying to get it to rumble in your N64 emulation.

I’m also a little bit irked that Microsoft is waiting until Q1 2007 to release the wireless version. C’mon, are we to believe that the thing isnt ready yet? ITS ALREADY working on xbox360. In my mind, it is just the evil empire wanting you to shell out 40 bucks now, then buy the 50 buck version later when you are tired of the wire. 90 bux in the end for a controller eh. . .

I bought this to use as a 2nd controller, and now it is my primary. It’s wired so you know that any potential interference is cut out of the equation, and you don’t have to replace the batteries in the standard controller or buy the play and charge kit that should have been included with the console anyway. (especially the 360 Elite which I bought, you would think for $450 they would include a rechargable battery pack and the ability to play wired)

That being said, the xbox360 controller is the best I’ve ever used for a console/computer/anything. Being a usb device it is usable on my pc as well as the 360, which is a very logical thing for Microsoft to have done. I used to own an original Xbox and has to buy a converter box for the computer to play pc games with the controller, this however, is so much easier and logical that you wonder why they didn’t do it in the first place. The answer to that question seems rather simple though, Microsoft obviously was catering to the PC gamepad industry (which they themselves are a part of) and decided it to be in their best interest to make the old Xbox controllers proprietary so to not hurt sales of PC only gamepads. I’m glad they changed their stance on that, and did so at the same time as releasing this awesome controller. Rockstallion.

This is exactly what it is – an XBox 360 controller for windows. If you need one, it will work well. If not, then don’t buy it. I use it for debugging games for our class, which need to run on the XBox 360. I don’t know that I can rate the controller itself as particularly fun, but these controllers are all well designed. The official Microsoft one is markedly better than some of the cheaper knock-offs you’ll see, but the knock-offs do work, and they’re cheaper. The Microsoft software works well and it’s easy to get the controller set up on the PC and all that. Overall, it’s good quality.

    Here’s the basics.

    1. It’s not that expensive compared to other controllers.

    2. It works great, I haven’t seen any flaws yet.

    3. I purchased it solely because my other USB controller wouldn’t work with Grand Theft Auto 4.

Basically, the only thing that makes this controller any better than other ones is that it works perfectly with Windows games.

This controller works for us the same way the cordless controller works. The cord is very long, and everything else is the same.

It is my fault but I thought (because I didnt read the description) this was a cordless controller, because of the main pic doesnt show a cord.

But, like I said that was my fault and this controller works very well and all functions are the same.

Seems to work with games that will support other gamepads. I have Vista 64 and Microsoft has drivers for it on their website.

THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH SOUND – PLUG IT IN AND I LOST SOUND IN MY SPEAKERS (my mobo is a Gigabyte DS3)

No support anywhere on the microsoft website or internet on this, and I saw a frazzled previous reviewer… so here’s the fix:

The controller has an integrated headset feature (you can buy seperately), but your pc may (like mine did) see the controller as a Controller AND a “headset.” It automatically enabled the “headset” (thus disabling my speakers).

Go to Control Panel > Sound

You’ll see it as a microsoft headset device enabled — disable this “headset”. Then your speakers should come back on. This does not interfere with the joystick at all.

    Enjoy!

I already had one of these controllers and I’ve played through PC games with pleasure. Some of the games that I found this controller useful are: NFS Most Wanted (I spent the most time on this game), NFS Carbon, Test Drive Unlimited, Lost Planet – Extreme Condition, and Madden ’08. I bought a second one so I could play Madden ’08 with friends.

It works pretty well with driving games (unless you have enough $ to buy a G25, then that’s probably the best option) and 3rd person shooters. I prefer mouse & keyboard for 1st person shooters. It’s a little sensitive with Emulators, but it’s still playable.

I highly recommend this. I’ve tried different controllers, but nothing is built as well as this piece.

This controller works seamlessly with Microsofts XNA toolkit. By having a wired controller hooked up you don’t have to always do you’re testing on the xbox or write extra code to use the keyboard for your game input. Anyone doing XNA development should have one of these.

Since I usually play games alone or co-op on Xbox live, I hardly ever need an extra controller, but those times do arise. I didn’t want to shell out $50 on a wireless Xbox controller, then buy another battery pack for $12 – so I just picked this up from Amazon for $40. The cord is plenty long enough and the controller works flawlessly with the 360. I haven’t tried it with my computer, but if you think about it, this controller and it’s wireless counterpart are better deals then the 360 ones as if you ever wanted to use it for a computer it plugs right in. Great deal!

A great controller, it maps out perfectly to every game I have. This controller turned a fast computer into a gaming good machine. Now I can waste more time at this computer than I ever thought possible and have a good time doing it. The controller works great with Ubisoft and Bethesda Softworks products. I could’t imagine playing HAWX without it, or Raibox Six Vegas Two or any game. The trick is to buy either a really high quality game or at least games with the “Games for Windows” label, then you are assured of a uniform interface.

This controller makes PC game playing really fun and the Xbox 360 controller is the standard for game playing. I used to use another controller, but this one is really nice. My Xbox friends come over and play is pretty much the same, well, my graphics card is better and sound comes through my real sound system, video is taken by my large, hi-def monitor. A great buy.

I like this. It’s the same base product as a standard Xbox controller (wired or wireless) with the same features – pressure sensitive trigger buttons, two separate motors for vibration support, etc. It connects via USB to your PC or to the Xbox 360 and includes a safety release so you won’t rip your PC or XBox off the shelf if you get carried away.

I actually prefer this controller to the standard Xbox or wireless Xbox controllers since it connects to both PC and Xbox 360 and draws power from the USB connection so you don’t have to worry about batteries.

I can see people hating this controller for its somewhat short cord length (about 6 feet) but it’s not an issue for me. If it is for you get Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows which includes a receiver or get a USB extension cable along with this controller. If you already have a Wireless Xbox 360 controlller, it should work on PC if you purchase a Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows.

I haven’t used this much for Windows gaming, but I imagine some games would give you problems since the button mapping looks quite different to DirectX than the mapping on gamepads by Logitech and others.

For any developers out there, this works fine with Microsoft XNA for both PC and Xbox 360.

I tested 3-4 other controllers before finally sticking with this one.

The Xbox 360 controller for the PC is basically an Xbox 360 controller with an adapter on the end of the cable so you can use it on a USB port on your PC.

The controller fits nicely in your hands (mine are small/medium hands). All of the buttons/controls are easy to reach and fairly well constructed. After about six months of moderate abuse, one of the trigger buttons on the front of the controller cracked at its pivot point. Of course, this was AFTER the paltry 90-day warranty from MS, so I had to look on a popular auction site to buy a used/broken controller to part-out to repair my otherwise good controller.

The included software doesn’t allow you to set dead zones or sensitivity, but there is a freeware piece of software out on the Internet (DXTweak2) that will allow you to make minimal adjustments. I wish MS had put the time into releasing the software that came with its joysticks that would allow full adjustment and profile saves for each game. The included driver software does have the annoying habit of lighting up one of the four quadrants on the face of the controller to indicate which quarter of the screen you are controlling. This seems to be a holdover from the actual Xbox 360 and serves no purpose on the PC other than to annoy you in a dim/darkened room at night.

While this controller lives up to its name–it is, indeed, an Xbox 360 controller–I found that it really gives Windows some firmware issues. Glaring ones.

This is a good quality controller, but for some bizarre reason, it messes up Windows’ audio drivers, so sound input quality drops tremendously and anything that goes through a microphone or such ends up incoherently fuzzy. Supposedly others have had issues with this controller and their computer’s audio-out as well, but I personally have not experienced this.

I first bought one of these in February of 2008 when I had the run-in with the sound issue. After calling up Microsoft support when I couldn’t find a clear answer online, they tried to pin the problem on my microphone, which has been working for me for over a year prior to buying this controller! I am no fool–it is clear that this controller causes the problem, as the issue only occurs when the controller is plugged in and cannot be remedied without rebooting while the controller is unplugged.

I bought one again this March of 2009, and much to my surprise, Microsoft has not even tried to fix the problem, it seems. On principle, I see no reason why they should keep my money.

If you are going to use this controller for games and do not often use your audio-in for voice chat and such, then by all means; it’s a magnificent controller. But unless you don’t like keeping common PC functionality, don’t waste your money on it.

This controller is great for my PC. I use it whenever I play Left 4 Dead 2 (which is awesome) and it allows me to sit on the couch the way I like to play, not on a computer chair hunched over a keyboard and mouse.

    PROS:

    -Great controller

    -feels nice

-recognized by Left 4 Dead 2, once I plugged it in, when you normally get the controls for a keyboard in the first level, it told me what buttons to press on this controller, which was great.

-the mic port (2.5mm) on the bottom is great (I use an old headset for a phone (2.5mm jack) so I can talk to people online, which is nice)

-the cord seems to be a good length, so I don’t have to sit really close to my screen, like I would with standard mouse and keyboard gaming.

-Recognized by Windows 7 instantly, without use of CD…

    Cons:

I have used this controller for about a half year now, and I have had no problems with it but,

as others have mentioned before, the light on the controller that tells you which player you are is pretty much pointless, and when I play with the lights out (makes L4D2 more fun) the glow is somewhat distracting.

All right let me give a short review about this controller, and I hope it will help other buddies a little bit.

First, not every game supports controller, not only this one, but also others. If the game you are playing supports controllers. You just need to go to control option to set as you wish. BUT most of the PC games do not support controllers. In this case, you will need Xpadder, please google it.

You can set the keys on your controller based on those on your keyboard, one to one, accordingly. You can also set it shaking if you want.

I already beat Call of Duty World at War using this controller, and now I am playing The Witcher. Both of these two games do not support controllers, but it is not a big deal. By using Xpadder, its not gonna be a problem to worry about.

    Another thing about Xpadder:

Like RPG, you have a lot of shortcuts on your keyboard so you can drink your potions more quickly or sth. The problem is your controller does not have enough keys to hold all of this keys on your keyboard. By using Xpadder, you can set some “Function Keys” , that’s what I call it.

While setting your controller, you can save two or more keys to be used as function keys. I chose LB and RB, and then just set these two keys. Click this key in Xpadder, and then click Advanced, and then click Set Selector, and then choose Select Set 2 while held, and then go to Set 2 and set other functions. So you lose two keys to use (LB and RB), but while holding LB or RB, your controller would go to another Set so actually you would have access to more functions. Take me, now when I am holding LB, XYAB would become my shortcuts to access to potions, and RB they would become the shortcuts to change my weapon. I was just grand when I found this way and couldn’t wait to share it.

The controller works well. I tested it out and played through the game Bioshock with it. I was pleasantly surprised to find that many PC games such as Bioshock apparently offer native support for it in the game options menu for Windows games. Of course, many games do not offer this support. For those that do however, this controller is quite enjoyable to use. I especially liked using it to play Bioshock, and I very much look forward to playing Grand Theft Auto 4 with it.

This controller is very comfortable use. As many gamers would guess, some games are just more fun played with a controller. Others aren’t. For those that are, you’ll have this. Just make sure that the game you’re looking at is a controller enabled game. Many of the games on Steam or Games for Windows for example are listed as being controller enabled or not, and the people on the appropriate Steam game forums can usually help answer questions about controller compatibility as well.

I would especially recommend this controller for PC gamers who have problems using the mouse or keyboard for comfort reasons such as carpal tunnel or arthritis. my hands and wrists occasionally hurt from playing games, but I find this controller is extraordinarily comfortable to use. Much more so than the keyboard and mouse.

First off it’s powered off the USB so no batteries to die.

It can be used on either the XBOX360 or the PC. It’s great for me because I can play the classic PC Halo Slayer online and can program the controller to work exactly the way it does on the latest 360 games. We all know how frustrating it can be to try to sneak up on an enemy and instead of reloading, we toss a grenade and blow cover because the controls vary from one game to the next. That’s a non-issue with this controller.

It’s light-weight and a lot cheaper than the wireless controller. It won’t lose it’s connection because of interference. I live in an urban area of a major city so there’s lots of different radio signals bouncing around all over the place. That can knock out a wireless controller from time to time (usually at the worst possible time) but that just doesn’t happen with the wired controller.

The only problem is the cable; it’s there. Cables don’t bother me but your mileage may vary.

I have to give it 2 thumbs up.

I really love this controller. The spacing of the buttons and sticks feels just right for my hands. That being said, I would warn you that it is a battle in itself to get it to work with anything. Of all my games with native gamepad support, only Halo could get the controller to work right away. The recurring problem that I expierenced was that games would recognize the trigger axis and think that it is the right thumbstick. If you want the vibrate function to work, you will need either Xpadder or the XBCD driver; both are free, but frustrating to set up. I had a very difficult time getting XBCD to work on my Vista machine, but it works easily on XP. Microsoft should have thought ahead and released a profiler with their controller.

If I had known about all trouble it is to set up this controller, I still would get it because the gameplay experience is greatly expanded. Feeling the controller rumble while stomping a Sniffer in Silent Hill 4: The Room or feeling the character’s heart beat faster and faster in Indigo Prophecy draws me into the game much more than with the keyboard and mouse.

This controller is great, and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a gamepad. You might have to go online for help, but it’s worth it. If you are going to get a 360 controller, I recommend buying the regular one, not the one for Windows. It costs a few dollars less, and they are the exact same thing, the CD notwithstanding, and you can download the exact same drivers from Microsoft.com. Also, if you choose to use the XBCD drivers, you will not even use the drivers that come on the CD.

I’m not sure why the reviews consider this a game; however, I would most-definitely recommend it. I use two of these controllers to play GameTap games with my friends as well as some older original NES titles.

It’s important to note that due to the popularity of this controller, GameTap and Games for Windows Live games already come pre-configured for these controllers, making it easy if you don’t want to bother configuring and binding buttons to actions.

The build quality is identical to the Xbox 360 controller, so it works great right out of the box. Additionally, the drivers are simple and unobtrusive – no extra software running in the background to get these to work. Simply insert CD, let it do its thing then connect the controllers.

Bottom line: I’ve owned these controllers for over a year now and they are still responsive and working – I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality controller for the PC.

Perhaps quite good in special for those games that are sport or simulator, the control plug-in the computer and one that another game brings it preformed, the disadvantage are in the games of first person, is lack customary, but in this case I believe that serious better combibacion “keyboard – mouse”, in the x box 360, is no difference… the control contains vibrator and an entrance for headphones of the 360, works in the PC and in the 360, also it brings a long cable that allows to maintain something of distance…
