Good product, well built, and is holding up well after about 6 weeks of use. Some design issues, such as the plastic edges digging into your hands a little because of the way you need to hold the PSP but otherwise it does exactly what I wanted. One other issue is the reflective cover over the screen can sometimes make it difficult to see, but it is no worse than the actual screen on the PSP.

    Good product.

All I wanted was a sturdy case to protect my PSP2000 and this is it. Nothing more and nothing less. Perfect snugy fit for PSP 2000. Luckly I had this case before I dropped by PSP on stairs. No scratch or dent the PSP is safe and sound. It has rubber grips inside that protects PSP from any dings and drops. You can even charge it while in the case. Screen shield is a life saver for air travel, if any one drops any thing while playing your PSP every thing is fully protected. Looks awesome it has enough space to hold some games too. I love this case and amazon thanksgiving sale.

While I agree that this PSP case is a well-made, well-fitting, and well-engineered product, I have found a few drawbacks that have made it a bad choice for me in particular. I am not the “target demographic” for the PSP (middle-aged female techie), but I love the PSP and take it with me everywhere. This means that the whole PSP, including the case, needs to fit in my purse. This case would only fit in my purse if I took everything else out – and even then would be a tight fit. Also, I find it absolutely impossible to play the PSP while in the case (a disappointing revelation). The case is far too clunky to be held comfortably in smaller hands, even if all the buttons ARE accessible. And I’ve had no luck in getting the case to function as an easel in order to watch UMD videos. The neoprene pads on the exterior of the case are just not placed correctly for this use. Also, the shiny clear plastic looks cheap – a definite drawback if you admire the classy styling of the PSP itself.

I am very satisfied with this PSP case product! Every-time my PSP is inside of this case I have no worries at all, I even play with my PSP while it is in the case and it is so awesome! I have dropped my PSP so many times & luckily because of this case protecting my PSP it has no damages at all. My PSP looks brand new because of this case and I got this last year!!

To make sure this case actually works I dropped my PSP with the case, from about 6 feet & the case still protecting my PSP!

The only thing that sometimes happens that I do not like is that the black cushion inside of the PSP sometimes comes off, but that’s if you start messing with it like I did, but this thing is awesome! The same way it is a must to get a PSP game because you have a PSP is the same way this case is a Must because you have a PSP!

When I saw how huge this case is, I was pretty reluctant to buy it. But after the amount of money I’d paid for my PSP, I figured it was worth a little bit more to give it a try.

It’s turned out to be a lot better than I thought, and I recommend one of these to anyone who owns a PSP: even if you’re not going to use the case all the time, at least take it with you when you’re going somewhere risky, like on a long car trip, on a flight, etc.

The PSP Traveler Case provides a hard plastic shell in which to store your PSP. It is perfectly fitted to the unit and has a hinged clear plastic cover that snaps closed over your screen, protecting it very well from scratches. On either side of the screen cover, there is plenty of room to access all the buttons on the PSP. The lid of the PSP Traveler Case provides padded foam-cushioned slots to snugly store two games and two memory sticks.

I’ve been very pleased with this case, but for two exceptions:

    1) Although you are capable of using your PSP while it is in the case, prolonged play can be difficult: the case is heavy enough to need to rest on your lap or a table, and the hinged lid will lay on your fingers (which gets old after a few minutes)

    2) Sony has gone out of its way to design the case for access to the buttons, but it is not perfect. You *can* flip the power or Wireless switches, but it takes some precision. You *can* plug in headphones or the video cable, and it’ll even provide a nice channel for the cables to lie in so they’re not in your way…but you have to get the angle just right to get plugged in. This is especially true of the video cable.

Last but not least, this case is bulky: I can fit it in a winter coat pocket, but it’s not going to tuck discreetly away in a suit like my DS does (the flip-top design of the DS means it doesn’t need a case like this one IMHO).

Bought the travel case after not having anything to protect the psp on my commute. It’s okay… but probably not the best out there. It does a good job at keeping the psp from getting scratched or dinged up while in my laptop bag – and it is good to be able to not have to have the psp sitting out in the open on my desk while charging it. I can charge it while it’s in the case. Now, the only gripes I have about it are that:

    1. Unless I’m wrong and just haven’t found out how, you have to remove the psp from the case in order to change the disc. Kind of stinks to do this, because I hate fingerprints, and I usually end up getting them all over the screen while changing the game, then I have to clean it, etc. Just a pain.

    2. I have big hands, and while playing the psp, the lid sometimes eithere rests on my fingers, or pinches my fingers. The “feet” on the case also rub on my third fingers while holding the psp, and it makes for an uncomfortable playing experience.

It’s a good case for protecting the psp, but I’m sure for the money you can find something else that is better.

Note that is is for the PSP-2000 Series only and clearly states on the back of the package “Do not attempt to use it with any other PSP model”. As I only have the PSP Slim then I can not test the any other model. In response to another reviewer here they say that the PSP symbol is not “on” the case but on a cardboard piece… so what? It keeps people from scratching off the PSP logo from constant wear and tear on the outside of the case and for those that want to remove the logo without damaging the case are also allowed to do so. I’ll agree tha the “Made in China” etching on the front of the case is annoying.

Review: Great case with solid feeling plastic. Rubber insets are removable and I’m guessing it’s so you can clean them because the PSP would not fit properly without them. The latch seems a bit too easy to open and you may have to squeeze the case slightly to get it to latch back properly. When the case is open you have full access to all buttons and hook-ups except the Wi-fi enable button at the top which is half-way covered. The PSP Slim fits perfectly and the rubber backing is already designed to hold the extended-life battery but it appears even without the extended battery it would still fit nicely. There is an extra screen protector piece that folds down over the PSP to 1) Hold it in place and 2) What else? Protect your screen. When the case is closed you still have access to the L/R buttons, power/hold button, the DC in (charger) and video/audio out ports. So you can charge the PSP while it is in the case and closed as well as start a UMD video, hook it up to your TV with the appropriate cables, close the case and enjoy UMD video on your TV. A minor problem is the USB connection… while they cut the plastic out for the USB connector the plastic is simply too thick to allow the USB cable to fully connect into the PSP while it is in the case.

On a side note, I have the leather strap on my PSP that came with the PSP Pouch and this Case does leave room for that to stick out while still attached so it won’t be a problem if you have anything attached to that loop on the bottom left-hand side of the PSP next to the video/audio port.

This product is not what I expected. It’s a big case, so it isn’t made for putting in your pocket. it also has no slots for carrying games. If you’re going on a trip and you don’t want it banged around in your carry-on, its perfect. it’s also great for holding your psp overnight or if you’re not going to use it for a while. If you’re looking for a case that you’d open and close frequently, like riding a bus, it isn’t for you. Its to clunky for daily use

This what I have been looking for, for a long time. It fits very well around the PSP, while leaving shoulder buttons, charger port, and headphone port exposed for use. It will hold 2 UMDS along with your PSP SLIM (2000), but has a foldable screen protector that comes down and locks the PSP in, so despite the extra room (used or not) doesnt cause the PSP to flop around inside like the Logitech slim case. When you open the lid the screen protector still stays locked in so your PSP doesnt flip out. I hate flopping out, its the worst.

Only real cons are, even though you can play the PSP inside it, it makes it quite bulkier, but I loved this since the thing was so small it makes my 4th and 5th fingers go numb, now no more. Also, the screen protector, that stops it from flopping around and damaging the screen… well its slighty crooked, to the right, may just be mine, and I am extremely picky, so it may not even bother you. Also since the case, for your convience, leaves a few ports and jacks open it lets in dirt and dust, so I wrap it in a cloth and then take it with me in my bag, but again I am extremely picky, so it may not even bother you. Also the lid, unlike the Logitech one is 2 hinged and loose, so hit hangs down on your knuckles if you play it while in the case, but for me the slight lose in convience is well worth the gigantic increase in protection.

A bit long, but I really wanted to get it out there since i bought, tried, and returned many cases because they were pure garbage.

    Hope this helps!

Maybe it isn’t the best case for the PSP but it works for what I need: Protection. I don’t like the open/close system, it seems unsafe to me but until this moment it has worked. The only thing I like is that I can play with my PSP in the case, so the LCD screen is always protected and my PSP doesn’t get dirty out of use, and I feel the console more bulky and handy because the slim model (2000) is too slim to me, but that is a subjective matter.

This case is awsome. It protects the PSP screen. It can hold up to two UMDs & two Memory Stick Pro Duos. You can play the PSP and still have it in the case. You can also change the position to watch a movie. It looks good and is portable. It is a strong case aswell. It looks good too. On the bottom of the case, it has two rubber cushions so it does not scratch the case or any surface the case is on. The only downfall is it gathers dust, and it gets hard to clean. Other then that, it is a very good case to use.

This is a real nice case. It’s a sturdy, hard plastic with a screen cover and 2 slots for PSP UMD game storage. You can play the PSP with it in the case, and the headphone, video out, and charging ports are all still accessible with the PSP in the closed case. I recommend this product for PSP-2000 owners.

I find it strange and stupid that no designer ever thought of adding a simple belt clip on the back side of the case that is supposed to be “portable”. It’s a no-brainer, einsteins.

I don’t like the fact that this so-called travel case cannot be carried hands-free. Do you?

I wish I could give a “-5 stars” for a work of extreme DUH!!!

This is a good case, it does protect your psp slim and screen very well.

For my needs however, it is a bit bulky. I don’t need to carry two games and two memory cards around all the time, they could have trimmed some of the size off just by taking those slots off. As it is, every so often the memory card or games will pop out of the slots, they don’t lock or click into the space provided, it’s more of a form fitting soft plastic that sometimes doesn’t hold.

The hinge on the top half is loose, it doesn’t stay in place like some other cases do. While I didn’t think much of it originally, over time it did become annoying as the top half rested on my knuckles while playing games.

I would recommend this case to anyone who does some traveling but doesn’t want to carry around extra cases for games and memory cards, it’s perfect for that.

Every day gamers may prefer something lighter, I wish Logitech would come out with a case for the slim, the one I had originally was perfect but is now to big for the slim.

To answer the first question on everyone’s mind, yes. This newly redesigned PSP 2000 case WILL fit your PSP game console even if you have the 2200mAh battery with extended back-plate. There is designated cutout in the rubber that allows the PSP 2000 to rest perfectly in place with or without the extended battery cover.

Now the explanation for the one star rating:

The case itself looks a lot sleeker in the package and in pictures than envolped around the PSP system itself. It has a cheap plasticy feel to it complete with a second rate, floating hinge that always seems as if its on the verge of breaking loose.

Also, unlike other PSP cases I’ve owned, the PSP logo isn’t etched or inscribed onto the case lid, even though it looks that way in pictures. The PSP trademark on top is just a thin piece of printed cardboard placed underneath the clear shell.

This case also comes complete with small rubber grips that, when opened properly, can be used to stand the case upright so you can view video files without holding the PSP in your hands. Only problem is the rubber grips never seem to hold onto whatever surface its standing on. It will slowly start to slide downward unitl it is laying flat on the table, the counter, the desk…etc..

This case looks, feels and performs more like a $5.00 cheapo instead of a $20.00 quality product. For this price I would find something better (and you can…very easily) instead of settling for this lesser product.

Overall, I think this case tries to do a lot compared to the other cases I’ve seen on the market. So you really can’t fault some one for that effort. Given the features, I can see why this case is so thick. What I still can’t figure out is why Sony felt the need to include UMD and MS storage if the PSP is going to be locked down with the lens? There’s a UMD travelers case on the market already and furthermore most PSP owners have more than two UMD’s. Therefore, I don’t see the need for this. I can imagine removing this extra storage would slim down the case substantially.

The thick lens that goes over the screen is VERY thick…~1/8″. It looks like the lens you see on the store sample PSP. The benefits of this are that it keeps my fingers off the screen when I am frantically smashing the square button, and off the Home button should I press it accidentally. Secondly, the screen seems to magnify the image a bit. The image also seems somewhat sharper….can’t put my finger on it yet. The USB port is virtually inaccessible. There’s a hole cut out to access the port, but the hole is almost the same size as the port itself. Most USB plugs come with some form of casing and this is exactly what will prevent access to the port.

The Thicker Case makes the PSP much more comfortable to hold. The diminutive size of the PSP cramped my hands after hours of gaming. This also has the benefit of preventing accidentally rubbing up against the PSP power switch while gaming. On the other hand, with the case closed, turning the PSP off/on is almost impossible. The thicker case somewhat ineffectively attempts to guard the shoulder buttons against bumps with raised portion, but this also makes the buttons harder to reach. The shoulder buttons still protrude very slightly (~1/16″) when pressed down. The case has to be opened to access the USB port (that is, if you can get to it). The back of the case resembles the PSP1000 with two rubber grips attached, keeping it from sliding around on smooth surfaces. At the bottom of the case where the clasps locks the case close, there is a cable channel to allow the unusual skype headset (or TV plug) configuration / cable to run across against the unit. The case also has plastic extensions /guards that will provide some protection for the plug against minor bumps or potential cuts. Finally, the locking clasp relies on two small hooks to keep the case closed. The button to unlock the case is almost flush against the case to prevent accidental bumps releasing the hooks.

The rubber-like inlay seems soft enough to take some minor bumps….but I am not sure about a drop from the table. Given the thick inlay, when the case is closed with all the compartments full the UMD is pressed up against the thick lens, which I’m not sure is a good idea. This inlay seems to be made with the same material as the soft rubber grips I mentioned.

The loose Double Hinge does not help keep the PSP stay upright. The texture and material of the surface has to be just right for the rubber feet to grip, and hold the angle shown in the pics above. However, the hinge seems bulky enough to sustain extensive use.

UMD and Memory stick slots are inaccessible when the PSP is locked into the case with the lens.

Assemblage of the case seems to be accomplished with snap-on joints. This means all the parts and pieces of the case can be separated with some force. This allows customizability, but it also means the whole thing could come apart easier on a collision.

I already have the Sony UMD carrying case which is all smooth black high grade plastic. Very high tech looking. When I pre-ordered the 2000 Traveler case, I only had a single small photo on Amazon to look at and I made the mistake of assuming the Traveler case was the same as the UMD case. Only one reviewer here mentioned in passing that the case is actually clear low grade plastic with a black interior. The case is bulky and the closing mechanism is clumsy and cheap feeling. I don’t think it will last very long before snapping off. The UMD case on the other hand has a well engineered sliding lock.

The case allows access to everything on the PSP except the Memory Stick. But there are a lot of cases that do that. The top does hinge back allowing hands free viewing. But there are a lot of cases that do that. The Traveler Case doesn’t have that Sony quality we pay extra for. It looks like something that’s on sale for $8 at the local flea market along with the bootleg DVD’s and plastic shoes. You can do better, shop around.

I bought this case after a few scary moments of dropping my PSP to better protect my gaming device. This case obviously takes care of my main reason for my purchase.

I would like to note a few gripes I have with it. Generally speaking, you may access all of the commonly used buttons and switches on the PSP 2000 without removing your PSP. It goes without saying in my mind that you have to take the PSP out to change what UMD is in it. However, the WLAN switch is very difficult to move while in the case, and the Power switch is a little tough to get at with larger fingers.

Another note is that while you can store 2 games and two MS Pro Duo sticks in the case, the makeup of that portion of the case is a little softer than I’d prefer. I like to feel a little ‘click’ or something as I put these in which is nonexistent. This causes me to be a little wary of having these stored while the cover is flopping around and I’m gaming. I haven’t had anything fall out as of yet, but I haven’t had a situation of horrible frustration yet either that may cause me to shake my PSP (I’m sorry, but that’s my reaction to those moments).

The only other note is that the case is a little thick for some people’s tastes. It works out OK for me, but don’t expect to be sliding this in your pocket easily. This is a necessity for the protection and storage provided.

Overall, the case does what I want it to do with some minor flaws.

Hello this is an excellent PSP 2000 case its those what it was made for to protect your PSP 2000 from breaking. The design its a lot like the Logitech case that came out for the original PSP back in 2005 is strong hard plastic and it secures your PSP 2000 very well. Also it has openings for the headphones, AC adapter the power button and the L1 AND R1 button as well. Unfortunately it does not have an opening for the memory stick so If you want to put a memory stick you will have to remove the PSP 2000 from the case. Now for the reviewer at the bottom that said that this case is made in “China” who cares. Everything is made in “China” including that computer that you used to type this review and so far it hasn’t fail you =). So right to the point get this case if you have a PSP 2000 (its only for the PSP 2000 model) you won’t regret it and your PSP 2000 will be safe from scratches and cracks.

This will be a quick review. Quality is nothing to be proud of. Made in China is engraved on the back of the case and the front reads PSP Playstation Portable which happens to just be a peice of cardboard. Other than those two complaints, which are quite serious to me, everthing else works ok. I was lucky enough to get this for 15.99 with amazons pre order price guarentee. It will deffently protect your PSP thought and all outputs on psp are easily accessable. I am not dissipointed nor do I regret my purchase, however I would only reccomend this product if you are seriously intrested and not because you want a cool assessery for your PSP (because it is not)

I was a bit hesitant to pick up this case, but it does meet the criteria I was looking for. First off, I wanted a Hard case so I could throw it in a back pack and not worry about it. It has some extra space for for two additional UMD’s, so I can keep 3 games with me (one in the system). It can be played while in the case (sometimes the extra thickness is nice for big hands) or easily taken out. And finally, it can convert into a stand for watching movies. This is great, because I like to use mine on the plane for movies. I have read other reviews that say it does not have a hole for the headphones. Mine has one, so I’m not sure what to say. Maybe a batch went out, without cutting that hole….Who knows. If you buy in the store, you’ll be able to see the hole while in the package.

My only gripe, is I wish it was around $10.00. I showed my wife, and her first thought was “you payed $40 for the extended warranty/accidental coverage from my sony. Why waste any more on a case”

    I would recommend it…

I’ve had this product for over 4 months now, and haven’t had a problem with it. I bought it for its practicality, and not for its looks… no bling here. This case may not look as nice as the one from LogiCase, but I still prefer it due to the convenience of having 2 games handy so that I don’t have to fiddle with a separate case in order reach my favorite games/movies. I love the plastic piece that protects the screen and haven’t had any issues with the locking mechanism. I dropped it twice now, and the case kept it from falling out and getting damaged. Someone complained that it was too bulky, but I like it because I have big hands making it more comfortable for me to use my PSP while it’s in the case.

Bottom line is that if you’re looking to purchase something for its looks, chances are that it’s going to be either expensive, or impractical, or maybe even both. I prefer convenience and practicality over bling any time. Read reviews, compare features & prices, but buy what is best for you and meets your needs. I just bought another limited edition PSP, so I’m ordering another one of these to help protect it… I just wish the price would drop.
